AI has certainly arrived and feels like it’s everywhere right now.
With smart tools showing up in our inboxes and new features in our favourite apps.
But you may be surprised to know, most small businesses are not ready to maximise its benefits.
Research from the Institute of Coding shows that only 12% of small and medium sized businesses are investing in AI training for their staff.
That’s a concern, because:
🤖 Almost a third of small and medium sized businesses state a lack of training as the main reason they don’t incorporate AI tools
🤖 52% of them say their team don’t have adequate skills or knowledge yet
🤖 Only 37% of smaller businesses feel confident in working with AI, compared to 82% of medium sized businesses
AI is no longer something that’s ‘nice to have’. It’s becoming an essential productivity and efficiency tool.
More than half of the businesses surveyed see it the same way and believe it’s critical. But only a quarter of them feel confident enough to use it safely and effectively.
And that gap is telling.
There’s a risk of AI becoming concentrated in the big companies, while leaving the smaller businesses behind. And AI is something all businesses can benefit from.
The AI transformation isn’t about individual business success, but making sure the whole economy can benefit in the transition.
So, ask yourself:
👾 Do you and your team understand how AI could help?
👾 Is it time to invest in guidance and training?
👾 If you haven’t…what’s stopping you?
Are you confident about using AI in your business? Do you think your team could benefit from more training to get ready?
