PowerPoint slides just got a whole lot easier

PowerPoint presentations are still a key part of business meetings. But they can be time consuming, and a real pain to create.

How often do you find yourself staring at a blank PowerPoint slide? Trying to figure out how to turn your notes into something presentable.

It can take hours to create something clear, professional, and visually engaging.

Luckily, Microsoft has a solution to make things that little bit easier.

Microsoft’s Copilot has new update that allows you to create PowerPoint slides directly from Word. Turning the time-consuming process into something that can be done in seconds.

I’m sure that’s music to a lot of ears.

For those who don’t know, Copilot is smart AI assistant built into tools like Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. You can ask it to do certain tasks, and it will do a lot of the heavy lifting.

This new feature allows you to ask Copilot to create a slide, based on a whole Word doc, or a specific section within that doc. In seconds, it will create a slide with the content already there, for you to edit.

It takes care of the initial setup to get you started. No more procrastinating about layouts or wondering if the fonts match.

It won’t create slides with custom colours or background images, yet. But it does give you a clean, professional starting point. That means less time working on formatting, and more time to focus on the key message.

That’s a big saving in time for businesses.

Let’s face it. Presentation slides are not going anywhere, anytime soon. They still play a big part in how information is shared. Everything from performance overviews to company roadmaps or presenting to clients. There’s no doubt they are essential. But preparing them can take more time than we’d like.

Now, if you have some well written notes, Copilot can get things started in a few clicks.

You can try this now if you have Microsoft 365 with a Copilot license. Simply make sure your apps are on the latest versions. From there, go to PowerPoint. In the Home tab, select “New Slide with Copilot”. Click the Copilot button and “Add Slide”. And just like that, you’re on your way.

This will allow your team to focus on delivering clear ideas without getting bogged down on formatting and layouts.

If you think it may be time to give Copilot a go, get in touch, and we can get you started.
