What’s on your Windows Clipboard?

📋 Have you ever thought about what’s sitting on your Windows Clipboard?

Most of us never even consider it, right?

It’s that handy little feature that remembers the last few things you copied. Like text, links, images, even screenshots.

But Clipboard history may present a potential problem. It holds onto things that you’ve copied, whether that’s an ID document, a password, or even a confidential customer email. So, there’s a real chance that sensitive information could be sitting in your history.

And that can create a serious privacy risk 😱

Imagine if someone gains access to your device (physically or through a hack). With only a couple of clicks they can easily view everything recently copied. Sensitive data like that could easily lead to real damage, like identity theft, financial fraud, or confidential business information being leaked 😬

In saying that, there’s no need to stop using Clipboard. It’s a convenient productivity tool that comes in very handy. But like any tool, it requires a bit of maintenance.

Here’s a quick fix:

👉 On Windows 11, press Windows + V and your Clipboard history will come up

👉 You can then delete items as needed

👉 Or you can remove it all by selecting ‘Clear All’

And if you prefer, you can bypass all of this and disable Clipboard history all together. Just head to Settings > System > Clipboard and toggle it off.

It’s not just about ‘tidying up’ 🧹 It’s about reducing unnecessary risk and protecting yourself, your team and your customers.

It’s like shredding sensitive paperwork, so it’s not lying around the office, only this is the digital version.
